Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Dreadlock Restoration.

Most sessions take between two and four hours depending on dread quantity, length and condition. Severely neglected or very long locs may require additional time or multiple appointments for a thorough, safe restoration.

Our stylists use gentle techniques and strengthening treatments to minimize breakage risk. If locs are extremely fragile we recommend staged restoration, protective treatments and home care guidance to rebuild strength without causing further damage.

Generally every 4–8 weeks for re-twisting and upkeep, depending on your hair growth and activity level. We’ll create a personalized maintenance schedule based on your loc health, desired look and daily routine.

Many neglected locs can be revived with cleaning, conditioning and careful re-twisting, but salvageability depends on matting severity and hair integrity. We’ll assess in consultation and recommend restoration, partial salvage or safe removal if necessary.

We use sulfate-free clarifying cleansers, lightweight natural conditioners, strengthening treatments and residue-free finishing oils. All products are selected to cleanse, hydrate and strengthen without leaving build-up that can harm loc formation.

Follow our aftercare plan: gentle washing schedule, palm-rolling or interlocking techniques, moisturizing with recommended products, and sleep protection. Avoid heavy waxes, excessive manipulation, and swimming without rinsing to maintain results longer.
